The IV All-Russian Congress on Environmental Protection Started Its Work

Today, in Moscow, the IV All-Russian Congress on Environmental Protection has opened at the Crocus Expo International Exhibition Center. The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection of the Russian Federation is the main organizer of the event. Discussion of major environmental problems, search for their solutions, and improvement of nature protection legislation in Russia are main purposes of the Congress.
The Congress is the largest discussion platform for professional environmental community. More than 2 thousand people from 83 regions of Russia will take part in the event. 52 delegates, who were selected in the course of the territorial conference on promotion of delegates for participation in the IV All-Russian Congress on Environmental Protection on October 3 in Kazan, represent the Republic of Tatarstan. Delegates include representatives of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Federal Service for Supervision of Natural Resources Usage for the Republic of Tatarstan, the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Civic Chamber of the Republic of Tatarstan, heads and ecologists of enterprises of the industrial complex implementing the best available technologies, representatives of municipalities, activists of social environmental movement, representatives of science and education, and nature protection bodies.
In the course of the Congress working sessions the most topical issues in the environmental protection sphere are considered. They include ensuring of rational environment usage, improvement of environment quality, monitoring and control of environmental safety, role of ecology in the national economy of the country, and experience of subjects of the Russian Federation.
Delegates of the Congress will take part in more than twenty round tables, discussions, and presentation sessions as well as in two strategic conferences: “Current condition: what has changed for 10 years” and “Environmental aspects of regional policy” that will take place today. It is planned that Artem Sidorov, the Minister for Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan, makes his report on aspects of environmental policy in the Republic of Tatarstan at one of these conferences.
Within the framework of the Congress, the First All-Russian Youth Environmental Forum will take place too. The information system of the Ministry for reception of citizens’ complaints on environmental violations will be presented. The Vasily Peskov Prizes called “In Harmony with the Nature” and awarded for the best journalistic materials on environmental protection will be presented in the course of the Congress. Besides, they will announce the beginning of the All-Russian Campaign “Avenue of Russia”. In the result of the latter a lane of 83 plants recognized by open voting as symbols of each of 83 regions will be planted.
Inspectors of the Central Department, together with representatives of the Kazan Interdistrict Environmental Prosecutor's Office and the Office of the Federal Service for State Registration, Cadastre and Cartography of the Republic of Tatarstan, conducted a survey of the territory of the Zelenodolsk district.
The events were held in the Zainsky district. The commission included inspectors from the Zakamsky Department of the Ministry of Ecology of the Republic of Tatarstan.
The Ministry of Ecology of the Republic of Tatarstan received an appeal from residents about violations of environmental legislation in the Yelabuga district. Inspectors from the Kama Department went to the site and confirmed the fact of dumping production and consumption waste into the territory of the Bug River water protection zone.
