The Almetyevsk City Court satisfied the environmentalists' demands and ordered the violator to pay damages for the damage caused to the soil.
In March, inspectors from the South-Eastern Directorate revealed a violation of environmental legislation during their monitoring of Almetyevsk. On the territory of the Zemlyanika gardening association, environmentalists recorded an unauthorized discharge of wastewater from a KAMAZ truck onto the soil.
The area of the contaminated site was 482 sq.m. Exceedances of the maximum permissible concentrations of sulfate ion and chloride ion were detected in the selected soil samples.
The damage caused to the environment was calculated. The amount of damage amounted to 2 million 97 thousand rubles.
According to information received from the Department of the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Tatarstan, the owner of the vehicle is an individual. The inspectors sent a claim for voluntary compensation to the owner of the truck. But the Ministry's demands were not met.
In this regard, environmentalists appealed to the Almetyevsk city court with a statement of claim. The Court satisfied the Ministry's demands in full.
