The autonomous non-profit organization "Scientific Research Center for the Conservation of Biological Diversity "Snow Leopard" announces the launch of the creative contest of drawings, crafts and posters "Snow Leopard". The event is timed to coincide with the International Leopard Day and is aimed at environmental education of the younger generation.
The competition is part of a comprehensive effort to preserve and restore the snow leopard population, which is being conducted by the Ministry of Ecology of the Republic of Tatarstan on behalf of the Head of the Republic of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov, and in support of the national project "Ecological Well-being". An important step in this work was the creation in 2022 of a Scientific Center for the Conservation of Biological Diversity with a priority species for study — the snow leopard. The construction of the center in the Altai Republic was completed in 2024, and the first snow leopards were delivered to it in early 2025.
The relevance of this work was confirmed by the large-scale international forum "Study and Conservation of the snow leopard in the world. Joining forces" held in March 2025 in Kazan. Experts from 12 countries took part in it.
"Conservation of biodiversity is a topic that is understandable and close to everyone, we are all part of nature. Projects such as the children's creativity contest form a careful attitude to the outside world from an early age," the press service of the Ministry of Ecology of the Republic of Tatarstan notes.
