The Ministry of Ecology received appeals from residents about overgrowing with reeds and silting up Lake Belo-Bezvodnoye on the territory of the Raifa section of the Volzhsko-Kamsky Reserve of the Zelenodolsk district. Specialists from the Ministry of Ecology of the Republic of Tatarstan conducted a visit together with employees of the State Committee of the Republic of Tatarstan for Biological Resources and the Kazan Interdistrict Environmental Prosecutor's Office.

During the inspection of the territory, the facts of negative anthropogenic impact on the lake, including wastewater discharges, were not revealed. Specialists from the Ministry's Central Department for Environmental Supervision took water samples from the lake shore.

According to the results of the laboratory study, exceedances of the maximum permissible concentration for chemical oxygen consumption by 1.6 times were revealed. Excess may indicate the presence of organic substances in the water, formed as a result of overgrowth of the reservoir, which is seasonal in nature.

The case materials have been submitted to the Kazan Interdistrict Environmental Prosecutor's Office for action.

According to information received by the Executive Committee of the Zelenodolsk district, the issue of clearing the Bag River, which flows into Lake Belo-Bezvodnoye, is currently being worked out.
