5,362 vehicles were checked in Tatarstan in support of the national Environmental Well-being project

Since June 1, an operational and preventive event "Clean Air" has been held in the republic. The campaign is being conducted by the Ministry of Ecology of the Republic of Tatarstan together with the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Tatarstan and the interregional territorial Directorate of Rostransnadzor for the Volga Federal District.

As of today, 5,362 vehicles have been checked. These are 4,897 passenger cars, 250 trucks and 215 buses. The excess was detected in 102 vehicles: 90 cars, 9 trucks and 3 buses.

During the same period in 2024, 5,049 cars were checked, which is 313 fewer cars than this year.

There were also more detected exceedances last year – 162 cars failed the inspection.  

Inspectors of the Ministry of Ecology of the Republic of Tatarstan have recorded a decrease in the share of vehicles with high levels of pollutants in exhaust emissions. "Drivers have begun to take a more responsible approach to the issue of car operation. Now the old fleet of cars is less visible on the roads. Motorists are switching to new cars that meet environmental standards," the press service of the department said.

The main purpose of the operational and preventive measure is to prevent the negative impact of vehicles on the state of atmospheric air, which corresponds to the achievement of the goals of the national project "Environmental well-being". Operation Clean Air is nearing completion, and it will last until September 30.

For reference: In 2024, 6,482 vehicles were inspected during the operation, and 177 violations were detected;

 In 2023, 6886 vehicles were checked, 184 vehicles failed environmental safety checks;

In 2022, 6570 vehicles were checked, 183 violations were detected;

In 2021, 6201 vehicles were checked, 172 violations were detected;

In 2020, 6588 vehicles were checked, 220 violations were detected.
