Operation Clean Air continues in the Republic of Tatarstan in support of the national Environmental Well-being project. Since June 1, inspectors from the Ministry of Ecology of the Republic of Tatarstan, together with employees of the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Tatarstan and the interregional territorial Directorate of Rostransnadzor for the Volga Federal District, have been checking vehicles for environmental friendliness.

As of today, 3,324 vehicles have been inspected in the republic. These are 2,955 passenger cars, 170 trucks and 199 buses.

The excess was detected in 67 vehicles (58 passenger cars, 6 trucks and 3 buses), which is 2% of the checked vehicles.

Employees of the Ministry carry out explanatory work with car owners who have been found to be excessive about the inadmissibility of violations of mandatory requirements of legislation in the field of atmospheric air protection and draw up protocols on administrative offenses.

"Such events are important for preserving the well-being of our republic and the health of residents. As of today, inspections are taking place in 23 districts of the Republic to ensure environmental safety," the inspectors of the Ministry of Ecology of the Republic of Tatarstan note.

Let us recall that in Tatarstan there is a decrease in the share of vehicles with a high content of pollutants in exhaust gas emissions. This is due to the improvement in the quality of motor fuel, the replacement of the old fleet of high-emission vehicles with new vehicles that meet the requirements of environmental class 4 and higher.

For reference: In 2024, 6,482 vehicles were inspected during the operation, and excess pollutants were detected in the exhaust gases of 177 vehicles;
