An environmental campaign with the participation of scuba divers was held on Lake Lesnoye

4 August 2025, Monday

This weekend, a large-scale environmental campaign was held at Lake Lesnoye, organized with the support of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan.

The event was attended by 70 people. 46 bags of garbage were collected together. A special feature of the campaign was the participation of scuba divers from the Underwater Research Group named after Alexei Leonov, who conducted an inspection and cleaning of the bottom of the reservoir.

The participants noted a positive trend: the amount of garbage collected is decreasing every year. For comparison, in 2024, more than 75 bags of waste were collected on the same lake.

Traditionally, there were many glass and tin bottles, food packages, and car tires among the objects found. An unusual find was a sound recording device discovered by volunteers during cleaning.

Such environmental campaigns play an important role not only in cleaning up natural areas, but also in forming a responsible attitude towards the environment among the residents of the republic, which contributes to achieving the goals of the national project "Environmental well-being".
