16 July 2025, Wednesday

From July 6 to July 23, 2025, the Republican profile shift "Time of the first: Take care of nature!" is taking place at the Koster Republican Youth Center. 177 children and teenagers from all over the republic aged from 7 to 17 years old take part in the shift.

An important part of the shift program was an environmental lesson conducted by employees of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan. Enge Dmitrieva, a specialist in the Department of Environmental Education and interaction with public organizations, told the participants about the importance of separate waste collection and careful treatment of natural resources.

The guys found out:

  • How plastic bottles turn into new clothes;
  • Why does one discarded battery pollute 20 square meters of soil;
  • How many years it takes for different types of waste to decompose in nature.

Children and teenagers shared their environmental practices: many already sort waste at home, use reusable bags, and prefer bicycles for short trips. The schools attended by the participants have containers for collecting waste paper, batteries and other recyclables.

The practical part of the lesson introduced the participants to the mobile environmental laboratory: experts demonstrated methods for measuring air and water quality, explained in detail the operation of modern environmental equipment.

The main purpose of such classes is to form a responsible attitude towards nature among the younger generation and instill an ecological culture from an early age.

At the end of the event, all young environmentalists received memorable themed coloring pages with useful eco-tips.

The Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan would like to thank the organizers and participants of the profile shift for their contribution to the formation of environmental values among the youth of the republic in support of the national project "Environmental well-being".
