The operating modes of the Volga-Kama Cascade hydroelectric power plants for the period from July 11 to August 10 were agreed at a meeting of the Interdepartmental Working Group.

Almaz Tugushev, Deputy Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan, took part in the meeting on behalf of the Republic of Tatarstan.

The water level of the Kuibyshev reservoir as of July 10 at the Upper Uslon hydroelectric station is 52.98 m BS, in the upper reaches of the hydroelectric complex — 52.96 m BS.

Nizhnekamsk reservoir is operating in bypass mode.

For the period from 07/11/2025 to 08/10/2025, Rosvodresursy has proposed the following modes of operation of hydroelectric dams:

Kuibyshevo: in the mode of ensuring the operation of the Volgograd hydroelectric complex;

Volgograd: the average discharge rate for the period is 5300-5700 cubic meters/s;

Nizhnekamsk: with the maintenance of the water level in the upper reaches of the hydroelectric dam at 63.0-63.75 m BS.

The Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan has generally supported the operating modes of hydroelectric reservoirs.

According to the data of the Russian Hydrometeorological Service, announced at the meeting of the IWG, the forecast of water inflow to the reservoirs of the Volga-Kama cascade in the third quarter will be 29-37 cubic km or 88% of the norm.

Rosvodresursy instructions on setting the operating modes of hydroelectric dams are published on the Rosvodresursy website.

The next meeting of the Interdepartmental Working Group on regulating the operating modes of the reservoirs of the Volga-Kama Cascade will be held approximately on July 9-10.
