A massive eco-float along the Kazanka River took place this weekend. The campaign gathered 54 volunteers, becoming the largest event of this format in the last four years. Employees of the Ministry of Ecology also took part in the ecological rafting.

The activists were rafting on boats and kayaks along a scenic route about 27 kilometers long — from the village of Urmanche to the Crystal Waterfall. The route passed along the Blue Lakes complex. During the trip, the participants collected garbage, cleaned the coastline, riverbed and identified potentially dangerous areas of the water protection zone.

As a result of the rafting, 36 bags of garbage were collected.

The event has become an important part of the program for the protection of water bodies and environmental education of Tatarstan citizens, which contributes to the achievement of the goals of the national project "Environmental well-being".

The organizers are the Kazanka Development Strategy, the Directorate for Natural Territories of the Tatarstan Urban Development Institute, the Directorate of Parks and Squares of Kazan, the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Russian Geographical Society of Tatarstan, GBU Educational and Experimental Prigorodny Forestry, the Administration of the Vysokogorsky District and the Corvette company.
