In the villages of Buzaevo and Bolshye Yaki, within the framework of the federal project "Protection from floods and other negative impacts of waters and ensuring the safety of hydraulic structures" and in support of the environmental Well-being pilot project, major repairs of the GTS were carried out on ponds located within the boundaries of these settlements.

The work was carried out in the period from 2022 to 2024 by the contracting organization Tatmeliovodstroy LLC. The preparation of design estimates and cooperation with the Federal Agency for Water Resources was carried out by the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan.

In the Buzaevo village partially destroyed earthen dams, spillway and intake structures on two ponds were repaired. The total cost of the project was 42.46 million rubles, of which 25.5 million rubles were allocated by Rosvodresursy and 17 million rubles – from the budget of the Republic of Tatarstan.

"There was an old road that leads to the village Lukovskoe. We used to drive cattle there to pasture. In the spring, the road was flooded, it was impossible to drive, only to take a detour. As this road was built, it has now become easier to travel to the fields and communicate with fellow villagers. Thank you to everyone who helped us with this!" says a local resident of the Buzaevo village, Ildar Gimadiev.

In the village of Bolshye Yaki, the GTS was overhauled on a pond near the river Petalki. During the work, the body of the earthen dam was strengthened, the spillway pipes were replaced, the well and the intake valves were repaired. For the implementation of the project Rosvodresursy allocated 22 million rubles at a total cost of 36.7 million rubles.

"After the repair, these facilities have already passed the seasonal flood of the current year and have confirmed the high quality of the work performed in terms of the reliability of structures and guaranteed protection of settlements and infrastructure facilities," said the head of the Department of planning and implementation of water management programs of Rosvodresursy, Vasily Borisenko.

The work carried out made it possible to protect 248 residential buildings with more than 600 residents from flooding, as well as a kindergarten, highways, gas pipelines, power lines and other infrastructure facilities. The prevented damage from the negative effects of the waters is estimated at 119.1 million rubles.

"The safety issues of hydraulic structures are under the special control of the Head of the Republic of Tatarstan. Thanks to his support, 24 GTS worth more than 487 million rubles have been repaired with republican funds over the past 5 years. Also, over the past 5 years, 34 GTS have been repaired with the support of the Federal Agency for Water Resources for a total amount of more than 615 million rubles, including more than 366 million rubles from the federal budget with corresponding co-financing from the regional budget at the level of 40-42%. This is a serious contribution to ensuring the safety of our citizens and protecting important infrastructure facilities," said Ilnur Nasretdinov, Deputy Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan.

The water bodies in the villages of Buzaevo and Bolshye Yaki are used as fire-fighting reservoirs, as well as for recreational purposes, and are very popular with local residents. These places have become especially attractive for tourists – the Lake House and Berry Valley campgrounds are located next to the renovated GTS.
