In the summer of 2024, the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan received an appeal about the discharge of wastewater from the territory of the cottage village "Kazanskaya Usadba" in Kazan. Inspectors of the Central Territorial Administration promptly went to the site and recorded the fact of the violation: wastewater was discharged from a pipe and a manhole. The spill area was 40 sq.m.

During the inspection, experts took samples of water and soil. The results of laboratory tests showed that the maximum permissible concentrations for ammonium ion, nitrite nitrogen, chlorides, sulfates and petroleum products were exceeded.

Environmentalists calculated the damage caused to the environment in the amount of 174 thousand rubles. The violator refused to compensate the damage voluntarily, after which the Ministry appealed to the Arbitration Court of the Republic of Tatarstan with a statement of claim.

The court supported the Ministry's position and ordered the violator to pay the damage in full.
