Today the Federal Water Resources Agency held a meeting of the Interdepartmental Working Group on regulating operation modes of the Volga-Kama cascade reservoirs via videoconference.
Alexander Shadrikov, Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan, took part in the meeting on behalf of the Republic of Tatarstan.
The meeting considered the issue of establishing operation modes of hydroelectric reservoirs from June 11 to July 10.
The water level of the Kuibyshev reservoir as of June 9 at the gauging station Verkhny Uslon is 53.08 m BS, in the upper embankment of the hydrosystem - 53.02 m BS.
Kuibyshev reservoir is filled up to normal background level (53 m BS) for the summer period, which corresponds to recommendations of the Rules of water resources use of Kuibyshev reservoir.
Nizhnekamsk reservoir operates in transit mode.
The Ministry of Ecology of RT supported the operation modes of reservoirs' hydrosystems proposed by Rosvodresursy:
- Kuibyshev reservoir: with average for the period discharge flow of 5500-6000 cubic meters/sec;
- Nizhnekamsk: with maintenance of water level in the upper embankment at the dam of the hydroscheme at 63-63.75 m BS.
The established regimes will be published on the website of Rosvodresursy.
The next IWG meeting is scheduled for July 9-10.
80% of appeals have been resolved by environmentalists since the beginning of the year
Since the beginning of the year, the Republican Public Environmental Reception Center has received 2,790 appeals, 2,231 of which have already been resolved.
1169 messages have been received through the Ministry's Internet reception desk, 941 notifications have been received in the “School Eco-Patrol” application. 624 appeals were registered in the “People's Control” system and 56 - on the feedback platform “POC”.
The most popular category remains the issue of unauthorized waste disposal - 1538 messages (941 of which were received through the “School Eco Patrol” application). 397 times residents filed complaints about air quality, 313 - about water quality and 542 times - about other issues.
