From June 1 to September 30, specialists from the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan, together with employees of the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Tatarstan and the interregional territorial Directorate of Rostransnadzor for the Volga Federal District, will take measures to identify excess pollutants in the exhaust gases of vehicles. During the operation period, it is planned to inspect more than 6 thousand vehicles.
All types of cars with an internal combustion engine will be tested for environmental friendliness.
In 2024, 6,482 vehicles were inspected during the operation:
- 5910 passenger cars;
- 420 trucks;
- 152 buses.
Excess pollutants were detected in the exhaust gases of 177 vehicles, which is 2.7% of the total.
In Tatarstan, there is a steady trend towards a decrease in the number of vehicles with a high content of harmful substances in exhaust gases, which is associated with the gradual renewal of the fleet, the decommissioning of physically and morally obsolete vehicles, as well as the production and sale of motor fuels with improved environmental characteristics. Since 1994, according to the results of the operation, the share of vehicles with a high content of pollutants in exhaust gases has decreased by 10 times.
Operation Clean Air has been taking place since 1983. The check takes place on the main highways and checkpoints. The main goal is to prevent the negative impact of vehicles on the atmospheric air.
