November 15th — the World Day of Recycling

15 November 2013, Friday

Today, we are celebrating the World Day of Recycling. The event is mainly aimed at attraction of attention of state authorities, public and industrial structures to the problem of resource limitation, decrease in the cost of end products at the expense of the use of cheaper raw materials, and prevention of environment pollution.
Recycling (waste recycling, waste recycling and recovery) means recurrent use or recirculation of rubbish or production waste.
For the first time this holiday was celebrated in 1997 in the United States. Its task was to encourage the Americans to handle waste for recycling and buy products made of processed raw materials.
With time this holiday has gradually expanded beyond the boundaries of the USA. On this day, many countries traditionally hold seminars, tours and other events in order to familiarize with the aspects of waste recycling and collection of processed raw materials.
