The Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan hosted the first meeting of an interdepartmental working group established to address problematic issues and eliminate negative impact factors identified during research work to improve the ecological condition of rivers and reservoirs of the republic using the example of a pilot facility, the Kazanka River.
Olga Manidicheva, Deputy Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan, delivered a report on the results of the Kazanka research project implemented in 2022-2024. According to the results of the research, more than 830 facts of negative impact on the water body have been identified. Within the framework of the Free Current project, in support of the national Environmental Well-Being project, 55 tree debris sites were dismantled and more than 800 bags of garbage collected in two years.
The meeting was attended by representatives of key departments responsible for the ecological condition of water bodies: the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan, the State Committee for Biological Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan, and the Rosselkhoznadzor Administration for the Republic of Tatarstan. Representatives of the Executive Committees of the Arsky and Vysokogorsky municipal districts of the Republic of Tatarstan and specialists from the Central and Northern Territorial Departments of the Ministry of Ecology were also present.
During the meeting, the issues of eliminating negative factors affecting the Kazanka River and its tributaries were discussed in detail. Based on the results of the discussion, the working group developed specific recommendations for carrying out work aimed at eliminating the identified violations and improving the ecological condition of water bodies.
The next meeting of the interdepartmental working group to discuss the progress of the planned activities is scheduled in a month.
This work is carried out within the framework of a comprehensive project for the conservation of water bodies in the Republic of Tatarstan and is part of the implementation of the national project "Environmental well-being".
