Concern about the environment is growing in Tatarstan: results of the Tatar-inform press conference

Tatar-inform News Agency hosted a press conference dedicated to contests and projects of the Ministry of Ecology of the Republic of Tatarstan. Deputy Minister Egor Tarnavsky spoke about the growing interest of the republic's residents in environmental protection issues and the successes of the republican Eco-spring competition.

According to a sociological survey, the level of interest of Tatarstan residents in environmental issues has increased from 81.1% in 2022 to 84.6% this year. This indicates an increase in the ecological culture of the population and the effectiveness of environmental protection measures.

The central event of the press conference was a report on the progress of the republican Eco-spring competition, which started on April 1. In the first 15 days, 850 applications have already been received, which is 21 applications more than in the same period last year. Educational institutions are actively involved in:

 Eco-team (schools): 309 applications (17,720 participants)
 Eco-team (kindergartens): 308 applications (14,540 participants)
 Eco-family: 93 applications (341 participants)
 Eco-helper (under 18 years of age): 44 applications (44 participants)
 Eco-helper (18+): 9 applications (9 participants)
 Eco-cooperation: 87 applications (6,290 participants)

The Eco-spring competition, dedicated to the Year of Defender of the Fatherland and the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, is held in the format of an ecological marathon, each week of which is dedicated to a specific topic:

 Week 1: "Help the birds" (making and hanging bird feeders and birdhouses)
 Week 2: "We are in favor of separate collection" (waste paper collection, master classes on waste recycling)
 Week 3: "Give the Earth a garden" (planting trees)
 Week 4: "Your actions" (cleaning of territories)
 Week 5: "Peace, labor, May" (landscaping around houses)
 Week 6: "Transfiguration" (improvement of springs)
 Week 7: ZooCare (animal welfare in shelters)
 Week 8: "Clean Water" (purification of reservoirs)
