A round table "Gas-powered transport: Challenges, problems, solutions" was held at the Kazan Expo Exhibition Center as part of the Tatarstan Energy Forum "ENERGOPROM".
Olga Manidicheva, Deputy Minister of Ecology, spoke about the environmental effect of using gas-powered vehicles. She noted that the development of gas engine fuel is one of the most important areas of the republic's carbon neutrality program.
Since 2015, emissions from vehicles in Tatarstan have decreased by more than 69%. This is due to the fact that many residents choose ecological transport. Over the past 10 years, the number of registered gas-powered vehicles has increased 7.7 times.
The automobile fleet in the republic is gradually being updated, physically and morally obsolete vehicles are being decommissioned, and the production and sale of motor fuels with improved environmental characteristics is increasing, which helps to reduce the negative impact on atmospheric air.
