Since the beginning of the year, 17 automatic air pollution control stations have performed more than 635,000 measurements. Five stations located in Kazan performed more than 214 thousand measurements.

In February, stations in the republic recorded 26 exceedances of the maximum permissible concentration of pollutants in the atmospheric air.

In Kazan, there were isolated exceedances in carbon monoxide with a maximum multiplicity of 1.48 MPC and hydrogen sulfide with a maximum multiplicity of 1.29 MPC. In Nizhnekamsk and Nizhnekamsk district, several exceedances were detected for ethylbenzene with a maximum multiplicity of 2.68 MPC and sulfur dioxide with a maximum multiplicity of 1.42 MPC. In the village of Kaleikino, Almetyevsk district, hydrogen sulfide exceedances with a maximum multiplicity of 4.26 MPC were noted at AAPCS.

According to residents, inspectors from the Ministry of Ecology also conducted visits to the northern part of Kazan. Atmospheric air samples were taken with the help of a mobile environmental laboratory. According to the research results, no excess pollutants were detected.

The measurement results are available online on the Ecological Map of the Republic of Tatarstan: https://ecokarta.tatar.ru/

In 2024, the Ministry's stations recorded 1,660 exceedances of the maximum permissible concentrations of harmful substances into the atmosphere, more than 75% of all exceedances were recorded at two stations – in Osinovo and in the residential complex "Salavat Kupere". And 99% of these are excess amounts of hydrogen sulfide. On the territory of the northern part of Kazan, enterprises whose total emissions amount to 90% of all emissions from sources in this part of the city are classified as objects of federal supervision. Hydrogen sulfide is primarily present in emissions from waste disposal facilities, sewage infrastructure facilities, sites for the disposal and processing of livestock waste, and production facilities related to the extraction and processing of oil and natural gas.
