20 February 2025, Thursday

Today, the State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan hosted a joint meeting of the United Russia faction and the TNV deputy group. Information on the implementation of the national project "Ecology" in the republic from 2019 to 2024 was presented by the Minister of Ecology Alexander Shadrikov.

Within the framework of 6 federal projects, 21.6 billion rubles were allocated, including 17.2 billion rubles from the federal budget and 4.4 billion rubles from the budget of the Republic of Tatarstan. The main focus of the work was the federal project "Volga Rehabilitation". During the work of the project, the Ministry of Construction, Architecture and Housing and Communal Services of Tatarstan built and reconstructed 13 sewage treatment plants located in the Volga basin of the republic.

The Minister called the work on the elimination of objects of accumulated environmental damage an equally important area. In 2021, on behalf of the Head of the Republic of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov, a pilot project was launched to eliminate a large object of accumulated environmental damage located in the water protection zone of the Kuibyshev reservoir – these are the silt fields of biological treatment plants in Kazan.

"Over half a century, 4 million cubic meters of silt sediment have been accumulated on an area of about 100 hectares. The cost of reclamation of these fields is more than 8 billion rubles. Currently, work is underway on the facility, the facility has been completed by 88.13%," said Alexander Shadrikov.

Another major facility having a negative impact on the waters of the Nizhnekamsk reservoir was the inactive pipelines of the Ozernoye oil field.

"The dismantling of inactive oil pipelines with a length of 23.7 km was fully completed in 2023, and the potential threat of negative impacts on the waters of the Nizhnekamsk reservoir was eliminated," said Alexander Shadrikov.

As part of the national Ecology project, which was completed in 2024, all planned activities were completed on time.

The national project "Ecology" has been replaced by the national project "Ecological well-being" since 2025. The new national project includes 6 federal projects. In 2025, the Republic of Tatarstan is participating in the implementation of 3 projects. These are the federal projects "Russian Water", "Forest Conservation" and "Closed-loop Economy".

Within the framework of federal projects in 2025-2027, it is planned to clear a section of the Melekeski River in Naberezhnye Chelny in the amount of 320.6 million rubles, work is planned to clear the Noksa riverbed with tributaries in Kazan and the reclamation of a landfill in the city of Nurlat.
