In Tatarstan, 30 events totaling 21.6 billion rubles have been implemented within the framework of the national Ecology project over 6 years

21 November 2024, Thursday

Today, at a press conference at the Republican Agency for Press and Mass Communications Tatmedia, Deputy Minister of Ecology Egor Tarnavsky told about this.

"Since 2019, we have been actively working on the implementation of the national Ecology project. In total, over 6 years, 30 events totaling 21.6 billion rubles have been implemented within the framework of 6 federal projects, which allowed us to solve many key problems," the speaker noted at the very beginning of his speech.

He spoke in detail about projects for the eco-rehabilitation of rivers, the elimination of accumulated damage, and the preservation of unique water bodies.

According to the federal project "Improvement of the Volga River", 12 wastewater treatment plants have already been built and reconstructed. In 2024, the reconstruction of the largest wastewater treatment plants in Kazan, which were among the top 200 main pollutants of the Volga, is being completed.

In parallel with the reconstruction, the reclamation of silt fields was also underway. The terms of reclamation have been extended to 2025. The objective reasons for the transfer were:

    - Abnormal weather conditions. In 2024, there was a high level of precipitation and abundant snowmelt, which overflowed the silt maps.

    - The second reason is the replacement of imported flocculant with a Russian equivalent, which dehydrates sludge 25 times slower.

This complex pilot project, which was implemented in cooperation with scientific institutes of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tatarstan, has already been called the flagship in Russia.

Thanks to this large-scale project, 140 hectares of land will return to economic circulation.

In general, according to the national project "Ecology" in the field of conservation of water bodies, since 2019, eco-recovery has taken place at 24 water bodies, 33 riverbeds have been cleared, 66 hydraulic structures have been overhauled, 8 shore protection structures have been built. 24 kilometers of the inactive oil pipeline of the Ozernoye oil field have been dismantled.
