The Republic of Tatarstan has completed the operational and preventive event "Clean Air" in support of the national project "Ecology". Every year, the Ministry of Ecology of the Republic of Tatarstan, together with the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Tatarstan, and since this year with the interregional territorial Directorate of Rostransnadzor for the Volga Federal District, organizes raids to check vehicles to prevent the negative impact of car exhaust emissions on the atmospheric air.

The event started on June 1 and lasted until September 30. During the operation, 6,482 vehicles were checked:

- 5910 passenger cars;

- 420 trucks;

- 152 buses.

Excess emissions of pollutants were detected in the exhaust gases of 177 vehicles, which is 2.7% of the total. The largest number of exceedances - 167 were detected in passenger cars. 7 trucks and 3 buses also failed environmental testing.

An explanatory conversation was held with the owners of motor vehicles on the inadmissibility of violations of mandatory requirements of environmental legislation in the field of atmospheric air protection.

The inspection took place in 23 districts of the republic.

In Tatarstan, there is a steady trend towards reducing the number of cars with an increased content of harmful substances in exhaust gases, which is associated with the gradual renewal of the car fleet, the decommissioning of physically and morally obsolete cars, as well as the production and sale of motor fuels with improved environmental characteristics. Since 1994, according to the results of the operation, the share of vehicles with a high content of pollutants in exhaust gases has decreased by 10 times.

For reference:

In 2020, 6,588 vehicles were inspected and 220 violations were detected;

In 2021 – 6,201 cars, 172 violations were detected;

In 2022 – 6570 cars, 183 violations were detected.

In 2023, 6886 vehicles were checked, 184 violations were detected.
