Deputy Minister Yegor Tarnavsky and Kazan Interdistrict Environmental Prosecutor Denis Alexandrov got acquainted with the progress of work at the facilities implemented within the framework of the federal project "Improving the Volga" of the national project "Ecology".
The first of them is the silt fields of biological treatment facilities in Kazan. Reclamation works have been carried out here since 2021.
Silt sludge is currently being moved at the facility. It should be noted that the total volume of waste before the start of work was about 4 million cubic meters. The lower screen is also being installed for geotubes and their filling.
The total readiness of the facility is 74%, the work is planned to be completed next year. 1 million 257 thousand Kazan residents will feel the positive effect of the project.
As for the 2nd facility, the reconstruction of biological sewage treatment plants in Kazan is already at the finish line. The facility is now 96% ready, Egor Tarnavsky said.
The result of these measures will be an improvement in the quality of cleaning and a reduction in the volume of pollutants discharged into the Volga River, a reduction in anthropogenic and environmental stress on its water basin.
