More than 5 thousand cars have been checked in Tatarstan as part of Operation Clean Air in support of the national project Ecology

Since June 1, as part of the operational and preventive measure "Clean Air", the Ministry of Ecology, together with the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Tatarstan and the Office of Rostransnadzor for the Volga Federal District, has checked 5,049 vehicles. 4,555 passenger cars, 358 trucks and 136 buses were inspected at stationary posts and highways in Tatarstan. 

"Drivers understand the importance and necessity of Operation Clean Air, everyone is interested in what impact their car has on the quality of atmospheric air. This shows the responsible attitude of drivers to their vehicles and to the environment in general," said Nikita Maslov, Head of the Atmospheric Air Protection Department of the Ministry of Ecology of the Republic of Tatarstan.

During the operation, 152 passenger cars, 7 trucks and 3 buses did not pass environmental testing. The excess was detected in 162 vehicles, which is 3.2% of the total number. 

Let us recall that the operational and preventive event "Clean Air" in support of the national project "Ecology" will last in Tatarstan until September 30.
