A live broadcast on the topic of environmental rights protection was held in the Regional Public Reception in the Republic of Tatarstan. Deputies of the State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan Azat Ziganshin and Rail Shamsutdinov and the head of the Department for Ensuring Safe management of industrial and Consumer Waste of the Ministry of Ecology of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustem Bogdanov took part in the live broadcast. The meeting was moderated by Deputy of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Rustam Kalimullin.
During the broadcast, the participants discussed ongoing environmental projects and environmental protection measures in Tatarstan.
"A lot of work is being done in the field of ecology in the Republic of Tatarstan, including within the framework of environmental education. The share of the population participating in environmental education activities in 2023 was 34.7%. The target figures for 2024 are 35.4%. Of course, Tatarstan citizens actively participate in the sanitary and environmental bi-monthly, the competition of the Ministry of Ecology "Eco-spring", the All-Russian "Water of Russia" campaign within the framework of the national project "Ecology", - said Azat Ziganshin in his speech.
They also focused on the issues of protecting the environmental rights of residents.
"Among the environmental rights of residents, the right to health protection from the adverse effects of the environment is of priority importance. Undoubtedly, it is one of the most important rights that determines the indicator of a person's quality of life. But here a clear point must be observed, our residents must understand that a person can write appeals and complaints, but at the same time he himself must observe cleanliness, order and environmental safety. I want to emphasize that citizens are obliged to preserve nature and the environment, take care of natural resources," said Rail Shamsutdinov.
Rustem Bogdanov, as part of the live broadcast, spoke about how important it is to properly dispose of waste of hazard classes I and II. For example, everyone can donate old batteries, fluorescent lamps, thermometers and other hazardous waste.
"Waste of classes I and II is the most dangerous and even a small amount carries a great risk to the health of residents and causes great harm to the environment. The Ministry of Ecology is doing a lot of work on the disposal of waste electronic equipment. For example, the Republic of Tatarstan is the leader of the Recycling School program. It has been implemented recently, but already about 300 tons of such scrap metal did not end up at landfills, but went to recycling plants. Special containers for collecting batteries are also installed in retail chains. The total number of batteries and accumulators transferred for recycling has already exceeded 200 tons," said Rustem Bogdanov.
At the end of the broadcast, the participants answered questions from the audience.
