Tatarstan environmentalists continue to check cars on the roads of the republic

To date, during Operation Clean Air, employees of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan, together with the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Tatarstan and the Interregional Territorial Directorate of Rostransnadzor in the Volga Federal District, have checked 1,936 vehicles. These are 1,654 cars, 166 trucks and 116 buses. Excesses were detected in 66, which is 3.4%. 

According to the results of the operation, there is a tendency from year to year to reduce the number of vehicles with an increased content of pollutants in exhaust gases. From 2014 to 2023, this figure decreased from 16.6% to 2.7%. Last year, 6886 vehicles were inspected from June to September. A higher percentage of pollution among those checked was trucks – 6.4%, passenger cars – 2.4%, buses – 2.2%.

Operation Clean Air is aimed at preventing the negative impact of vehicles on the state of atmospheric air in support of the national Ecology project. Inspections on the roads of the republic will continue until the end of September.
