Alexander Shadrikov: "The best investments are investments in our children, in their upbringing."

11 June 2024, Tuesday

The Ministry of Ecology has been engaged in environmental education for 30 years, and hundreds of eco-lessons, contests and other events are held annually. The Minister of Ecology spoke today about environmental education, which plays the most serious role in the work of the department.

He noted that only within the framework of the sanitary and environmental two-month clean-up 400 thousand Tatarstan citizens came out, and within the framework of the Eco-spring competition, the ministry received 1202 applications.

"Our long-time reliable friends and partners - members of the regional branch of the Russian Geographical Society - make a huge contribution to environmental education. Our projects "Free Current", the eco–rehabilitation of Kazanka, the revival of the Yunnaty movement are only part of our common work with the RGS," the minister said.

An example of such successful collaboration is a project to revive the population of the saker falcon.  It was implemented with a grant from PJSC SIBUR and was implemented together with the RGS, KFU scientists and volunteers.

The project became a finalist for the National Award "Crystal Compass" as "The best social and information project for the preservation of natural and historical and cultural heritage."

Work on the revival of sakers will continue this year. In a week, volunteers will arrive in Kamsko-Ustinsky district and the chicks will be delivered.

"Activists of the youth environmental movement "It will be Clean" provide great assistance in educational work. For these guys, ecology is not a fashion trend, but a life position that they have chosen for themselves.  Young naturalists of the republic do not lag behind their older friends. Since 2018, the Ministry of Ecology has been supporting all the initiatives of the guys. There are 2,300 young naturalists in Tatarstan today," the minister said.

He added that today a marathon in Almetyevsk in support of the Clean Heritage Environmental Olympiad starts, which is being held by PJSC Tatneft together with the Ministry of Ecology. Various educational events will be held in 12 cities throughout the summer. Alexander Shadrikov thanked the management of Tatneft for supporting environmental initiatives and events.
