Improving the quality of health and improving the environmental situation are the main goals of the national Ecology project, which has been implemented in the country on behalf of Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin since 2019. With this brief introduction, Tatarstan Minister of Ecology Alexander Shadrikov began his speech in the Cabinet of Ministers today. He noted that the national project "Ecology" is quite lively and dynamic in its structure, it is being transformed, its tools for achieving its goals are constantly improving.
"At the moment, the national project includes several main topics – waste, water, air, forests, which we are implementing together with colleagues from other environmental agencies. The Republic of Tatarstan is an active participant and leader in many indicators of the national project," the speaker noted.
Since 2019, 30 events totaling 17.6 billion rubles have been implemented within the framework of 6 federal projects. By the end of 2026, 8 more events are planned for 5.7 billion rubles.
Within the framework of the federal project "Improvement of the Volga", 12 wastewater treatment plants were built and reconstructed. At the moment, the reconstruction of biological treatment facilities in Kazan is underway. The object has been implemented by 81%.
According to the federal project "Clean Country" 3 landfills have been reclaimed. These are a landfill in the village of Prosti in Nizhnekamsk district, a landfill in Menzelinsk and the Samosyrovsky landfill in Kazan. Also, within the framework of the "Clean Country", a site contaminated with petroleum products in the village of Shemordan in the Sabinsky district has been reclaimed. The reclamation of the second section is being completed this year. The work is ahead of schedule, 80% of the work has been completed.
According to the federal project "Conservation of unique water bodies", 4 water bodies have been cleared since 2021.
"According to the decision of the President of the country Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, work in the format of national projects continues. The main goals until 2030 are to preserve and strengthen the health of the population, which is impossible without environmental well–being. Currently, within the framework of the national project, a new federal project "Water of Russia" is being formed, which will become the successor to the "water" federal projects "Improvement of the Volga" and "Preservation of unique water bodies". A number of proposals have been formed and sent from the Republic of Tatarstan," the head of the environmental protection agency said.
These are the construction and reconstruction of wastewater treatment plants (17 wastewater treatment plants), as well as the rehabilitation of water bodies (29 water bodies).
The federal project "Water of Russia" has agreed to include in 2025 an event to clear the Melekeski riverbed in Naberezhnye Chelny. The Russian Ministry of Natural Resources has also received preliminary approval for the inclusion of the Knox River eco-rehabilitation program in the new federal draft. The clearing of the riverbed of this river may start as early as this year as part of the project "Conservation of unique water bodies".
