A walk through "little Amsterdam" and getting to know Yoshkin the cat

25 May 2024, Saturday

Today, employees of the Ministry of Ecology together with the children went on an excursion to Yoshkar-Ola. The journey through the capital of the Republic of Mari El began with an acquaintance with the symbol of the city - Yoshkin the cat.

Then they went to the Tsarevokokshay Kremlin and visited historical Heritage festival. They dove into the Middle Ages - the times when brave knights fought with swords. At the festival, everyone could participate in a fist fight, try on a military uniform, shoot a bow or hit a target with a spear.

One of the famous places in Yoshkar-Ola is the Bruges embankment, made in the Flemish style. This place was named after the Belgian city. Ministries and the city registry office are located on the embankment.

And on Patriarch's Square you can not only walk, but also watch the performance. Students of the Mari University recreated the plot from the Bible "The Entry of the Lord into Jerusalem". With the help of a special movable mechanism, the figures of the apostles come out of the gate every three hours. The statues are movable, each turns its head or hand with a wreath.

They ended this family weekend with souvenir shopping at the Yoshkin Kot store and a tasting of jam from cones.

"It was our first time in Yoshkar-Ola and we really liked this city. Most of all, I remember the beautiful embankment along which you can walk all day and Yoshkin the cat, who fulfills all desires," the employees of the Ministry of Ecology share their impressions of the tour.

We remind you that this year in Russia has been declared the Year of the Family. Today, our employees went out on family clean-up days and went on an excursion.
