2 May 2024, Thursday

Deputy Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan Egor Tarnavsky told about the results of the implementation of the six-year federal project on the improvement of the Volga River in Tatarstan, a new federal project on the improvement of water bodies, clearing of Noksa and Melekeski in an interview.

As the Deputy Minister noted, Tatarstan has been actively participating in seven federal projects of the national Ecology project since 2019. He also focused on the project "Improving the Volga River", which ends its operation in 2024. Its main results are not just the implementation of measures, but a threefold reduction in the proportion of contaminated wastewater entering the Volga River. To achieve this indicator, since 2019, 13 measures have been implemented for the repair and reconstruction of wastewater treatment plants. The main one is the reconstruction of biological treatment facilities in Kazan. The event has been implemented since 2021 and is scheduled to end in 2024. In conjunction with the reconstruction of the Kazan sewage treatment plants, large-scale work is underway to reclaim silt fields.  "This facility, in fact, is unique in its kind for the whole country, since silt fields in such volume, in such quantity have not been reclaimed in our country yet. The facility has been implemented since 2021, the total cost of the events is more than 8 billion rubles. 94 hectares of land were initially covered with silt sediments, and more than 4 million cubic meters of silt sediment were accumulated. Currently, the contractor is working on old field maps," the speaker said.

In general, 19.3 billion rubles are allocated in the region for the implementation of measures within the framework of the federal project "Improvement of the Volga" until 2024, of which 15.5 billion are federal budget funds. The funds raised amount to 81% of the total amount.

Let us recall that the reconstruction of sewage treatment plants has already been carried out in Naberezhnye Chelny, in Yelabuga – in two stages, as well as in Zainsk, Tetyushy, the village of Krasny Bor in the Agryzsky district, in the village of Alekseevskoye, two facilities in the Zelenodolsk district – in the villages of Vasilevo and Nizhniye Vyazovye, in the Menzelinsky district in the village of Yurtovo and two facilities in Pestrechinsky in the district – directly in the district center of Pestretsy and in the village of Koshchakovo. All objects have different capacities. All work has already been completed, only the largest facility in Kazan remains, the Deputy minister stressed.
