27 April 2024, Saturday

Today, at the Government House of the Republic of Tatarstan, Minister of Ecology Alexander Shadrikov reported on the interim results of the sanitary and environmental two-month period in the Republic of Tatarstan.

In the first four weeks, 125 thousand people came to the clean-ups. Thanks to the joint efforts, almost 50 thousand cubic meters of solid household waste were exported to landfills.

2000 units of special equipment are involved. As part of general improvement and landscaping, municipalities have planted more than 24 thousand trees and shrubs.

"Such a spring general cleaning is extremely necessary. In Tatarstan, more than 1 million hectares of forest, 465 thousand hectares of protected areas, more than 36 thousand water bodies, 40 thousand kilometers of highways – this is our house, which needed to be cleaned after the winter.

Memorials and obelisks are in the area of special attention. In 10 days, our main holiday is the Day of the Great Victory and we must celebrate it with dignity, with renovated and landscaped Alleys of Memory and Glory," Alexander Shadrikov said during the report.

The Minister emphasized the activity of Tatarstan citizens themselves, they go out on clean-up days, participate in campaigns, and send appeals about violations identified.

Since April 1, the Ministry has received 2,120 appeals from Tatarstan citizens. As the head of the Ministry of Ecology noted, the main part of appeals is still related to unauthorized waste disposal, there has been a 5-fold increase in appeals since the end of March, air pollution issues are in second place in terms of the number of complaints, and violations of water legislation are in third place.

One of the reasons for the formation of landfills is still the untimely removal of waste and improper maintenance of container sites, the minister noted.

Two air fly-by have already taken place within the framework of the two-month period. 12 districts of Tatarstan were examined from the air, 203 violations were revealed.

Also, within the framework of the two-month period, we are monitoring water bodies, examining roadside lanes of public roads. Detours of these territories are conducted jointly with "Road Safety" State Institution.

Today, a commission detour of the railway's right-of-way is taking place with the participation of Russian Railways employees.

Contractors of the Ministry of Transport and Road Management of the Republic of Tatarstan also joined in restoring order. More than 2.5 thousand cubic meters of solid household waste have already been collected, 1,400 people and 249 units of special equipment are involved.
