On April 16, the marathon "Hand over waste paper – save a tree" started in the Republic of Tatarstan. It should be noted that the campaign has been successfully held in 43 regions of the Russian Federation for several years in a row. The geography of the event is constantly growing.
The eco-marathon is built on a competitive principle. Municipalities are passing the baton of collecting waste paper to each other. They are fighting for the highest possible place in the green rating table, identify the most active citizens worthy of the title of Eco-hero. The winners of the campaign are awarded with valuable prizes. To participate in the campaign, you must collect at least 300 kg of waste paper and leave a request on the official website of the campaign Сдавайбумагу.рф или www.Sdai-Bumagu.com., after which the organizers provide a car for export. Those who find it difficult to collect 300 kg on their own, but really want to take part in the campaign, can contact their place of work or the nearest educational institution with an offer to jointly take part in the "Hand over waste paper – save the tree" campaign.
Let us recall that in 2023, the Republic of Tatarstan entered the top three among the regions for the collection of waste paper. More than 276,000 people joined the campaign, who sent over 1,400 tons of paper raw materials for processing. All the participants made a great contribution to the preservation of the environment, because a ton of waste paper saves 10 trees from cutting down, which emit oxygen for 30 people, saves 1000 kW of electricity and 20,000 liters of fresh water!
