22 April 2024, Monday

As part of the sanitary and environmental two-month period, inspectors of the Ministry of Ecology together with journalists today went on a raid on unauthorized waste disposal sites.

The first point of the raid was the area next to the Birch Grove in the Volga region of Kazan. Unauthorized storage of construction materials was detected on site.

"This is the first time we have seen such warehousing in this territory. The Ministry of Ecology has sent a request to clarify the owner of the land plot. To date, a large number of appeals from residents have been received within the framework of the two-month period. We urge all those who are not indifferent to take an active part in our clean-up days, clean up the surrounding areas, and put gardening plots in proper condition. May 9 is coming soon, we need to have time to remove all the memorable places," Anna Salakhova, an inspector at the Central Department of the Ministry of Ecology, told reporters.

The next point of the raid was an overcrowded container site in the village of Voznesenie on Sniperskaya Street. Several violations have been identified here at once. Including an unequipped container site.

"Residents of two villages throw out garbage in this place. The car can no longer drive up to take out all the waste. And this problem repeats itself from year to year," local residents of the village complain.

The Ministry's specialists sent warnings to the Administration of the Sovetsky district to eliminate the violation.

Let us recall that on April 1, a sanitary and environmental two-month period has traditionally started in the republic. The main goal is the sanitary cleaning of the territories of settlements, the identification and elimination of landfills that have accumulated over the winter period. During the sanitary two–month period in the republic, 888 violations were detected, of which 435 were landfills.
