The Kazan Gymnasium No. 19 hosted a science festival today. This event has been held for several years, the festival has been organized 16 times, but this year the festival was timed to coincide with the Year of Scientific and Technological Development, which was announced by the Head of Tatarstan.
200 children from the basic schools of the Russian Academy of Sciences in Tatarstan took part in the festival – these are students of Gymnasium No. 19, Gymnasium No. 7, Lyceum No. 131 and others. Today, the children attended lectures, exhibitions and defended 47 scientific projects, including projects on environmental protection and environmental education of schoolchildren.
As noted by Damir Valiullin, head of the Department of Information Systems and Environmental Education of the Ministry of Ecology of Tatarstan, ecology is the science that studies the interrelationships of all living things with each other and with the environment, and it is very important to study this subject from early childhood:
"Ecology begins with each of us. Human life is impossible outside the biosphere, it is very important to understand that it is we who determine the future that awaits us here and now. Clean air, water, land – if everyone thinks about what I have done to preserve what we have, then I am sure we will make this world a better, cleaner and kinder place."
