"Hand over the waste paper – save the tree" - the All-Russian eco-marathon has started in Tatarstan

16 April 2024, Tuesday

Today, on April 16, the marathon "Hand over the waste paper – save the tree" started. It takes place in the form of competitions between districts and cities of Tatarstan. Within a month and a half, until May 30, everyone can make their contribution and save at least one tree. All educational institutions, public organizations, enterprises, companies, and other institutions of Tatarstan can participate. To participate in the eco-campaign, you need to collect at least 300 kg of waste paper and leave a request on the official website of the Hand Over Paper campaign.Russian Federation or www.Sdai-Bumagu.com .

Those who find it difficult to collect 300 kg on their own, but really want to take part in the campaign, can contact their place of work or the nearest educational institution with an offer to jointly take part in the "Hand over waste paper – save the tree" campaign.

In order to properly prepare for delivery, waste paper should be collected, which is recyclable: glossy magazines, newspapers, office paper, notebooks, kraft paper. It is good to tie up in dense bales or tightly and compactly put into boxes, removing the plastic elements before doing so.

Let us recall that in 2023, the Republic of Tatarstan entered the top three among the regions for the collection of waste paper.  More than 276,000 people joined the campaign, who sent over 1,400 tons of paper raw materials for processing. All the participants made a great contribution to the preservation of the environment, because a ton of waste paper saves 10 trees from cutting down, which emit oxygen for 30 people.

The campaign takes place 2 times a year on a regular basis, with the support of the "Give a Tree" project www.подари-дерево.рф.

According to the results of the eco-marathon, the winners will be awarded with commendations, and the most productive ones will receive cash prizes. Rewards are paid when one or more organizations collect more than a ton of waste paper at one collection point.
