Alexander Shadrikov told reporters today about the start of the sanitary and environmental two-month period

Today, the Cabinet of Ministers of Tatarstan held a briefing on the start of the sanitary and ecological two-month period and environmental awareness events.

The briefing was attended by Tatarstan Minister of Ecology Alexander Shadrikov, Deputy Head of the territorial Department of Rosprirodnadzor Bulat Akhmadiev, First Deputy Minister of Forestry of Tatarstan Ilgizar Zaripov and head of the Tatarstan branch of the Russian Ecological Society Azat Ziganshin. The sanitary two-month period started on April 1 and already on the first day many organizations went out for cleaning, Alexander Shadrikov told reporters.

"Tatarstan citizens are always actively involved in this eco-activities. On the first day of the two-month period, many organizations went out to clean up already. Let me remind you that a two–month period is not only the elimination of landfills, it is also the planting of trees, cleaning the shores - all that unites us to do good deeds together," the minister said.

In his speech, the Minister of Ecology briefly spoke about the results of the two-month period last year. In 2023, more than 8 thousand violations were detected by all supervisory agencies. 6890 of them were promptly eliminated, the rest within a year. 5.5 thousand violations or 69% are unauthorized waste disposal. 89 percent of the identified landfills were eliminated by the end of the two-month period. By the end of April and May, fines and demands totaling 70.2 million rubles were filed.

"More than 520 thousand cubic meters of waste were taken to landfills, 18 thousand pieces of equipment were involved, almost 650 thousand trees and shrubs were planted. 688 thousand residents of our republic took a direct part in all these works," Alexander Shadrikov listed.

"Thank you for such activity to everyone! And to you, dear journalists, among others, it is you who convey the importance and significance of such work to our residents, and they actively participate in our clean-up days," Minister of Ecology Alesander Shadrikov thanked those present.

The minister also said that in the first three months of this year, the environmental public reception received 926 requests through all communication channels. Of these, 352 are issues related to unauthorized waste disposal and 304 are appeals on atmospheric air quality.
