Alexander Shadrikov congratulated Tatarstan citizens on the World Water Day
Friends, today is a very important holiday - World Water Day! Water gives us life, opportunities for development. Water unites us all, connecting us by river and sea ways and routes.
We have 36,384 water bodies in Tatarstan – these are our pearls Volga and Kama, the beautiful Sviyaga and dozens of other rivers, lakes and streams. Among the regions of the Volga Federal District, Tatarstan ranks first in terms of the total area of lakes and artificial reservoirs. This is our pride, but also our great responsibility. Specialists of the Ministry of Ecology, together with colleagues from related departments and all concerned residents, protect, clean and save these water resources of the republic. Thanks to such joint work, Tatarstan has been the winner of the All-Russian campaign "Water of Russia" of the national Ecology project for the third year in a row. Thank you all for your support, trust and teamwork!
Our federal projects and republican programs have allowed us to bring the welfare of rivers, reservoirs and lakes to a fundamentally new level.
The importance of continuing and scaling up such work has been indicated by President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin - a new large-scale river improvement project will be launched in 2025.
I am convinced that together we will do everything to preserve this most valuable resource for our children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Once again, I congratulate everyone on the holiday — happy Water Day! I invite residents of Tatarstan to actively participate in our clean-up days and campaigns to clean the shores of lakes and rivers this year. Let's take care of our water wealth together!
