In the next two years, 8 more events are planned in Tatarstan within the framework of the national project "Ecology"
At a briefing at the Government House of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Minister of Ecology spoke about environmental protection measures that will be implemented in the coming years. He recalled that Russian President Vladimir Putin supported the formation of a new unified federal project on environmental improvement of the country's water bodies until 2030 from 2025. The new project will replace the federal projects "Improvement of the Volga" and "Preservation of unique water bodies". The Government is currently forming a project passport. The Ministry of Ecology of Tatarstan has already sent proposals for the rehabilitation of 29 water bodies and the reconstruction of 17 wastewater treatment plants to the Ministry of Natural Resources of Russia in order to include these measures in the new federal project.
Another task is to start clearing the Knoxa River. Let us recall that the rehabilitation of Knoxa is the idea of the Tatarstan branch of the Russian Ecological Society. The project is comprehensive, it also includes events and actions to clear and clean the shores with the participation of public organizations and concerned residents. More than 25 surveys of the river's water area have already been conducted, and the most problematic places have been identified. An important component will be the project to clear 27.9 km of the riverbed within the framework of the federal project. The project documentation is ready for today, and the expert opinion has been received.
It is planned to continue work in Naberezhnye Chelny to clear 4.6 km of the Melekeski River.
The first section of the Sredvolgavodkhoz branch of the Centerregionvodkhoz Federal State Budgetary Institution was completed in 2023 at the expense of the federal budget. Financing for the clearing of the second section with a length of 3.1 km and a cost of 320 million rubles is provided from the federal budget for 2025-2026.
At the end of his report, the Minister of Ecology noted that on February 29, the President of Russia will determine the vector for a new six-year period as part of a Message to the Federal Assembly. "I am sure that a healthy environment has been and remains a priority project and tasks for the future," Alexander Shadrikov stressed.
