Today, on the day of the 35th anniversary of the withdrawal of Soviet troops from Afghanistan, a solemn rally was held in the central park of Nurlat near the memorial complex of internationalist soldiers. Tatarstan Minister of Ecology Alexander Shadrikov took part in the rally.
According to the head of the district, Damir Ishkineev, 172 people left the Nurlat district to serve in Afghanistan. Many of them have been awarded high awards. "Today we pay tribute to those people who went through the crucible of war. You have honorably fulfilled your duty in Afghanistan," the head of state noted.
Minister of Ecology Alexander Shadrikov addressed the internationalist soldiers with words of gratitude for their valor and heroism. "Thank you for your service, attitude to the Motherland and for what you are doing. You are an example for all of us, especially for the younger generation. I bow low to you for your service and love for the Motherland," the Minister of Ecology thanked the veterans.
Combat veterans were awarded commemorative medals "35 years of the withdrawal of Soviet troops from Afghanistan" today.
