Theissueoftransfer tomoreeco-friendly types of transport was discussed during the Day Without a Vehicle

         TheInternationalConference, organizedintheframeworkofimplementationoftheproject “ReductionofexhaustofgreenhousegasesfromautomobiletransportinRussiancities” washeldinKazan. RepresentativesoftheleadinginternationalandRussianorganizationsengagedintheplanningoftransportinfrastructure, federalauthorities, representativesofelevenorganizingcities, wherematchesoftheWorldFootballChampionship 2018 willbeheld, aswellasfellowworkersoftheMinistryofEcologyandNaturalResourcesoftheRepublicofTatarstanandtheMinistryofTransportationandPublicRoadSystemoftheRepublicofTatarstantook part in it.
       Implementationoftheprojectonorganizationofbelt railway service around the city of Kazan as one of the elements oftransport support of the World Championship was reviewed during the conference.Accordingtoexperts, it will become motivation for the citizens of Kazan to use public transportation instead of private cars. It will have positive effect on the ecological state of the city and it will considerablylessen the load on the street and road network of Kazan.Participants of the conference also discussed one of priority directions for development of transportation system in Russia meaning the use of natural gas asengine fuel.
ThestateprogramoftheRepublicofTatarstan “Development of the market ofgas-engine fuel in the Republic of Tatarstanfor 2013-2023” has been approved of this year by the decree of the Cabinet of Ministers No. 283 as of 26.04.2013.
The program is mainly aimed at:
 Stable decrease of the level of negative impact of automobile transport on the environment and people’s health;
 Achievementofthegreatesteconomicefficiencyoftransportationbymeansofmotor vehicles through modernization of theirmaterial and technical base and arrangement of conditions for top-priority use of compressed natural gas by motor vehiclesas engine fuel;
 Expansionoftheuseof compressed natural gas in the Republic of Tatarstan.

The events envisaged in the framework of the program will be held in 3 steps: 1st step – the year 2013; 2nd step – 2014-2018; 3rd step – 2019-2023.
Specialattentionwillbepaidtodevelopmentofthemarketofgas-engine fuel and itsservice maintenance in synchronization with acquisition of motor transportoperating on compressed natural gas. During 2014-2018 itisplannedtore-equipapartoftherepublicanmotor vehicle fleet used for public service utilities, agriculture, construction field, as well as ambulance vehicles and to transfer them to the use of natural gas.
Besidesreductionofexpensesrelatedtotransportationof cargoes and people, implementation of the events in the framework of the Program will promote enhancement of the ecological state in cities andpopulated areas of the Republic.
