Today, a delegation from the Chelyabinsk region visited the Republic of Tatarstan on a working visit. The guests were familiarized with the progress of work on the reclamation of silt fields of biological structures in Kazan. Deputy Minister of Ecology of Tatarstan Egor Tarnavsky told colleagues about the technology used in reclamation: "The scientific community of the republic was involved in solving the problem of reclamation of silt fields. Specialists of the Institute of Ecology and Subsoil Use Problems of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tatarstan conducted comprehensive studies. The report formed the basis of the terms of reference for further complex engineering surveys. As a result, it was determined that the recycling technology should solve five main tasks - dehydration, disinfection, neutralization, processing of sediments directly at the site of their placement and neutralization of harmful odors during work."
He recalled that the reclamation of silt fields has been underway since 2021 and will be completed this year as part of the federal project "Improvement of the Volga". As of today, 66% of all planned work has been completed.
As part of a working trip to Tatarstan, Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Victoria Abramchenko visited silt fields and biological treatment facilities in Kazan and noted that such an integrated approach and best practices in solving problems of improving water bodies should be replicated throughout the country.
