11,844 appeals from residents of Tatarstan were received by the Ministry of Ecology of Tatarstan in 2023.

6 thousand of them are the "School Eco-patrol". This was announced by the Minister of Ecology Alexander Shadrikov at the final board.

He stressed that the Ministry is an open agency – more than 5,000 requests from residents were received through the hotline and the Internet reception. Every fifth complaint relates to the powers of federal supervisory authorities.

"People write to us about all environmental issues. For them, it does not matter which agency – regional or federal, should provide supervision. Supervision is only a tool! It is important to look for the causes of problems, analyze and solve them comprehensively. Only then will there be efficiency and results for the residents. And this is the main thing!" said Alexander Shadrikov.

In his report, the Minister of Ecology elaborated on the most pressing problems and complaints of this year – complaints about the quality of atmospheric air from residents of the northern part of Kazan, complaints about pollution of water bodies, unauthorized landfills and issues related to the shallowing of the Volga.

Alexander Shadrikov stressed that a new negative trend has appeared in unauthorized landfills – filling of ravines – and gave several examples. "For example, the dump on Gudovantseva Street. The inspection staff has collected all the material on the violation. The environmental damage amounts to more than 88 million rubles. The Ministry has filed a lawsuit in court for compensation for damage caused by the littering of land. We are waiting for a decision," the Minister of Ecology said.

In general, over the past year, 1,970 violations were identified in terms of waste management, 265 damages were filed, of which 106 for damages totaling more than two hundred and eighteen million rubles. At the end of the year, 1,755 warnings were issued.
