The Ministry of Ecology of Tatarstan summed up the results of the competition for the collection of spent power sources in schools and kindergartens of Tatarstan. Schoolchildren and kids of the republic from September to December 2023 disposed of 21 tons of 222 kg of batteries.

Most of the batteries were collected:

- Nizhnekamsk district - 1500 kg

- Baltasinsky district - 1139 kg

- Kukmorsky district - 753 kg

- Aktanyshsky district - 744 kg

- Leninogorsky district - 636 kg

- Zainsky district - 510 kg

All spent power supplies were exported by regional operators for further processing at the Megalopolysresurs Group plant in Chelyabinsk.

Let us recall that the competition is held in two stages. On April 1, together with the sanitary and environmental two-month period, the second stage of battery collection starts. All schools and kindergartens of the republic can take part in it. During the campaign, it is necessary to bring the collected batteries to the school of your municipality, from there they are picked up by regional operators.  There are currently 48 collection points for spent power sources in the Republic of Tatarstan. All addresses can be found on the website of Megalopolysresurs Group of Companies https://eco2eco.ru/map/

Detailed information about the terms of the competition is available at the link: https://eco.tatarstan.ru/aktsiya-po-sboru-otrabotannih-batareek-v.htm.

Let us recall that the campaign to collect spent power sources has been held by the Ministry since 2019. Its goal is to attract children and adults to separate collection of MSW, as well as to increase environmental literacy of the population.
