At a meeting with journalists, the Minister of Ecology said that the Ministry is the coordinator of many environmental projects and programs. "We are not afraid to take on the most difficult projects. You can see how different they are in our country – this is the revival of sakers and the reclamation of silt fields, Samosyrovo and eco-education… The projects are different, but the goal is the same – the environmental well-being of our residents. Our main KPI is zero complaints from the population," said Alexander Shadrikov.
The Minister of Ecology stressed that an integrated approach, structuring the problem and searching for cause-and-effect relationships are at the forefront of the work of the Ministry of Ecology. It was an integrated approach that made it possible to implement a complex project for the reclamation of silt fields. Reclamation takes place in conjunction with the total reconstruction of sewage treatment plants and the construction of a workshop for thermomechanical treatment of sludge. After reclamation, not only the negative impact on the environment is removed, a huge plot is returned to economic use – this is an integrated approach. "Within the framework of the national Ecology project, we are not just removing problems, we are comprehensively developing the territory," the minister stressed. And this is far from the only example, he noted.
"On behalf of the President of the Republic Rustam Nurgalievich Minnikhanov, we began to study the accident rate of protective dams. Together with the Executive Committee of Kazan, we initiated the design and construction of protective structures as part of the development of the territory on Portovaya. Thanks to the mayor of the city, Ilsur Raisovich Metshin, that this work is being carried out under his leadership." Let us recall that in order to create a complex territory in Kazan, the renovation of an industrial zone on the banks of the Volga River near Portovaya Street has begun. This site is becoming an investment-attractive and prosperous place for the construction of apartment buildings. The implementation of the project is possible taking into account the construction of coastal protection structures.
Complex solutions are also used in solving other tasks. The Minister of Ecology focused on the scientific research project on the ecological rehabilitation of the Kazanka River. The project is in cooperation with science. "Since 2022, we have been studying the impact of negative factors, primarily diffuse runoff. Last year, the second stage of the project was implemented. In addition, within the framework of this project and thanks to the support of the leadership of the Republic of Tatarstan, the branch of the Russian Geographical Society cleared part of the riverbed under the Free Current project. Scientific research has once again confirmed the need for afforestation of water protection zones. This will solve the problem of river pollution in the complex," said the head of the environmental protection agency.
