Alexander Shadrikov: "The trust of our residents, the support of the leadership of Tatarstan is very important and significant. Thanks to such support and trust, the Ministry of Ecology is not afraid to solve the most difficult tasks"

27 December 2023, Wednesday

Today, the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Tatarstan held a traditional New Year's Eve meeting with journalists. In two and a half hours, the Minister of Ecology, Alexander Shadrikov, spoke about the global challenges that the department faced several years ago and how they are now solved. The dialogue began with memories, Alexander Shadrikov thanked everyone for the questions that came during the year and which were voiced at the meeting exactly a year ago: "I remember all your questions that were asked in this room a year ago. You asked about the technologies used in the reclamation of the Samosyrovsky landfill, about the pilot project for the dismantling of pipes. Today I can say that these projects have already been implemented." Speaking in terms of numbers, from 2018 to 2023, 1,125 environmental protection measures were carried out in Tatarstan, spending a total of 60.5 billion rubles on them. This made it possible to improve the environmental living conditions of 2.5 million Tatarstan residents. Damage of 65.6 billion rubles was prevented. "The main thing for us is the well-being of our residents. We are working together with you to do this. And you are our like-minded people in this matter!"

The head of the environmental protection agency spoke in detail about the pilot projects of Tatarstan, which were completed this year – the reclamation of the Samosyrovsky landfill and the dismantling of the flooded oil pipeline of the Ozernoye field. Today, for the first time, journalists were shown how the active degassing system implemented at the Samosyrovsky landfill works.

"We have not just eliminated the object of negative impact, we have forced harmful gas to benefit. The power plant is ready to generate energy! We are working on the issue with the Executive Committee of the city, where this electricity will be used," the minister said.

Alexander Shadrikov noted that large pilot projects in the republic are being implemented within the framework of the national project "Ecology" and gave figures. Since 2019, 30 events worth 17.6 billion rubles have already been completed in Tatarstan within the framework of the national project. For 2024-2026, 8 more events are planned in the amount of 5.7 billion rubles.
