Alexander Shadrikov: "We should not be the liquidators of the problem, we should prevent their occurrence"

25 December 2023, Monday

Today, Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources Alexander Shadrikov became a guest of the online conference of the online edition of Real Time. It is symbolic that the meeting with journalists took place on the day of the 31st anniversary of the establishment of the department. On December 25, 1992, the Resolution of the Supreme Council of the Republic of Tatarstan was issued on the establishment of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan (since 1988, in accordance with the Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Council of the Republic of Tatarstan, there was the State Committee of the Republic of Tatarstan for Nature Protection). At the very beginning of the interview, Alexander Shadrikov thanked everyone who worked and is working in the Ministry, emphasizing the contribution of veterans of the department. "We are environmental coordinators, we develop comprehensive solutions. The achievements that we have today are, of course, the merit of both our veterans and cooperation with science. Today, we are ready to take on any pilot project to improve the well-being of our citizens.

After all, what is ecology? First of all, it is the health of our people: what they breathe, what kind of water they drink, what they live by," the minister said.

This year, the department completed major pilot projects within the framework of the national Ecology project - the dismantling of the inactive oil pipeline of the Ozernoye field in the waters of the Nizhnekamsk reservoir and the reclamation of the Samosyrovsky landfill. The largest project to be completed next year, the Minister of Ecology designated the flagship project for the reclamation of silt fields of BOSK Kazan. "On behalf of Rustam Nurgalievich Minnikhanov, the President of Tatarstan, we worked a lot with science: we prepared technical assignments, held scientific and technical councils together. A lot of work has been done by scientists, for which I am very grateful to them. 36 decisions came to us, 32 of them were considered at the scientific and technical council."

The Minister of Ecology emphasized that the elimination of silt fields would be impossible without an integrated approach. "Tatarstan has developed a dialogue between government, science and society, thanks to which an integrated approach can be implemented. It was these developments that we shared with 16 regions of Russia at a seminar-meeting, which we held on behalf of Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Victoria Abramchenko."  We are ready to share our experience and our colleagues from Veliky Novgorod have already requested the technology of a set of measures for reclamation. However, we not only share our solutions, but also adopt others ones. We are learning from others," the Minister of Ecology stressed.
