Deputy Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of Tatarstan Egor Tarnavsky and Head of the Department of Environmental Education and Interaction with Public organizations Olga Artemyeva told about environmental campaigns of the Ministry of Ecology of Tatarstan at a press conference in the Tatar-inform news agency today.
Let us recall that Tatarstan once again won the All-Russian campaign "Water of Russia" of the national project "Ecology". The award ceremony was held at VDNKh in Moscow as part of the International Exhibition and Forum "Russia".
"This is really good news for us. Tatarstan has been in a leading position for the third year in a row, and all this is not for nothing. This year, about 323 thousand people took part in the events, which is one fifth of the total number of participants in the campaign across the country. By joint efforts, about 9 thousand km of shores were cleared and 22 thousand cubic meters of garbage were collected. I want to express my gratitude to all the residents. This is our common merit, our common victory," Yegor Tarnavsky thanked the Deputy Minister. According to him, the number of participants in environmental campaigns is growing from year to year, and there is less garbage.
Another good news is that Tatarstan has entered the TOP 5 of the All–Russian "BoomBattle" campaign. A large-scale initiative to collect waste paper was held under the auspices of the public environmental movement "Ecosystem" in support of the national project "Ecology", which is being implemented by decision of Russian President Vladimir Putin. Tatarstan residents managed to collect 185 tons of waste paper in a month.
Olga Artemyeva, Head of the Department of Environmental Education and Interaction with Public organizations, spoke in detail about the victory of Tatarstan schoolchildren at the All-Russian Children's Environmental Forum in Chelyabinsk. "The republic was represented by 26 schoolchildren who prepared a project to clean the shores. According to the idea of the guys, the analysis of satellite images will help to identify and track the dynamics of pollution of the shores of reservoirs. Such a cosmic view from a height will allow you to quickly find the most problematic areas and connect school teams to clean up the territories," she said.
"The events that we hold annually contribute to increasing the coverage of the population with environmental education. This year, the number of environmentally oriented Tatarstan residents has increased to 34.7%," said Egor Tarnavsky.
