Today, the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan hosted an excursion for students of the Department of Industrial and Environmental Safety and the Department of General Chemistry and Ecology of the Kazan National Research Technical University named after A. N. Tupolev – KAI (KNRTU-KAI). The specialists of the department showed the students the work of an automatic air pollution control station, a mobile environmental laboratory and told about the principles of its operation. In total, the Ministry has 17 automatic atmospheric air monitoring stations, 5 of them are located in the capital of Tatarstan.
Deputy Minister of Ecology Olga Manidicheva and heads of departments of the Ministry met with the guys. They told the students what environmental monitoring is and how it is carried out, why it is especially important to strictly control air quality during periods of adverse meteorological conditions, and what substances are analyzed for air and water. Olga Manidicheva also told the guests about the Ministry's competitions and invited the children to take part in the competition of scientific and practical works on ecology. The acceptance of applications for the competition has been extended until November 10.
"There are so many of you today and it cannot but please us. It means you are interested in ecology, that you support us, and you are environmentally oriented. Everything we talked about today, any topic in terms of environmental monitoring, can form the basis of your thesis, term paper or competitive work. We are waiting for your suggestions on improving environmental protection and nature management," the Deputy Minister noted.
At the end of the meeting, the specialists answered all the students' questions and invited them to practice at the Ministry. Perhaps some of today's guests will want to become part of a large department team in the future and will come to the Ministry not for an excursion, but for work!
