Today, employees of the Ministry of Ecology planted the first 60 trees of the future Walk of Fame at the memorial to the heroes of the Great Patriotic War in the village of Yambulatovo in the Verkhneuslonsky district of Tatarstan.  In total, 220 trees are planned to be planted here in the future in honor of each name carved on the obelisk of Glory. Employees of the Ministry of Ecology planted blue and green firs, mountain ash and maples at the memorial place in the center of the village. Minister of Ecology of the Republic of Tatarstan Alexander Shadrikov stressed that it is important that the younger generation know their heroes, remember each of them: "Today, planting the first trees at the obelisk of the heroes of the Great Patriotic War, we say words of gratitude not only to those whose names are carved on the memorial plaque, but to all our grandfathers and great-grandfathers who fought for Our Victory. If we don't know our history, then we won't have a future. Here are the names of those who made our history, the history of Great Russia. The President of our country, Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, has repeatedly said that patriotism, like love for the Motherland, is something that should be in our hearts and souls, something that a person cannot live without."

The first trees of the Walk of Fame, together with the Minister of Ecology, were planted today by villagers whose fathers, grandfathers and great-grandfathers fought during the war and whose surnames are now carved on the obelisk. Lyudmila Nikolaevna Semenova is the niece of the Hero of the Soviet Union Semyon Konovalov, her father, like the famous uncle, was a tank driver. "My father, Nikolai Konovalov, went to the front when he was 18 years old. The first battle was at Stalingrad. He reached Berlin, and when he returned, he said – daughter, we did everything so that you would not see this, so that you would live happily," with tears in her eyes today, the veteran's daughter remembers her relatives, on the obelisk of 220 names, 8 are the surnames of her relatives. "Dad hasn't been with us for 20 years. There are many names of relatives on the Memory Stele here, in our village every family was affected by the Great Patriotic War."

Deputy head of the Verkhneuslonsky district Sergey Osyanin says that the list is still being updated, the fate of some villagers is still unknown.

"The campaign that took place in our district today thanks to the patronage of the Ministry of Ecology is not a one–time campaign, it is part of a huge system of patriotic education, because there is no future without the past and therefore our actions are the foundation of the future."

Let us recall that a year and a half ago, at the initiative of the Minister of Ecology Alexander Shadrikov, the department's employees took patronage over the memorial complex in the village of Yambulatovo. By May 9, 2022, the memorial of Glory was completely reconstructed, a bust was installed to the Hero of the Soviet Union - tankman Semyon Vasilyevich Konovalov, about whose feat the film "Indestructible" was shot, a tank was brought and installed in honor of the Hero's feat.  Semyon Konovalov was born in the village of Yambulatovo, but there was no monument in his small homeland for a long time.  The new memorial complex was dedicated to all participants of the Great Patriotic War – natives of this settlement.
