Today, Tatarstan Head Rustam Minnikhanov took part in a meeting of the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation on the state and development of passenger transportation on inland waterways of the Russian Federation. The meeting was held by the Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation Vitaly Savelyev.
Issues that require solutions at the federal level were raised during the meeting. This includes the possibility of creating a Volga-Kama shipping operator, the formation of a regular and tourist route network, determining the need for ships and their schedules. The possibility of making changes to the program of JSC "State Transport Leasing Company" for financing the construction of ships for 2024-2026 was also discussed.
According to Rustam Minnikhanov, the Gorky Zelenodolsk Plant is ready to start work on the construction of two new vessels this year.
"Due to the low water level, the approaches of ships to five settlements have been canceled – on the Volga River and on the Kama River. The low water content of the Kuibyshev reservoir on the territory of the republic carries the risk of non-fulfillment of the main tasks of the interregional project "The Great Volga Way"," said Rustam Minnikhanov
Let us recall that on October 6, at a meeting of Rosvodresursov, Alexander Shadrikov again proposed to reduce discharge costs from the Kuibyshev reservoir to 3,400 cubic meters/s. However, based on the water needs of the regions of the Lower Volga (Astrakhan region), the majority of votes, including Rosmorrechflot, adopted regimes according to which the costs through the Zhiguli hydroelectric power plant will remain in the amount of 4,400 cubic meters/s until 10.11.2023.
According to the forecast calculations, at a cost of 4400 cubic meters/s. The level of the Kuibyshev reservoir will decrease by 38 cm from the current value.
